Kilkenny (Ireland) - "Medieval Marathon". Kilkenny provides the historic backdrop for Ireland’s 9th Medieval Marathon. Participants will set off from Abbey Quarter for the Marathon, 30K, and Half Marathon, and the 10K. The route will take in some of the most historic sites in the medieval city before winding out the country roads, making its way back to Kilkenny to finish in The Water Barracks. Keel, Mayo (Ireland) - "Achill Roar Adventure Race". This adventure race ran between 2010 and 2016 and always was super fun, friendly and was known for having the best after race party on the AR circuit. The race is part of the ARI Solo Adventure Series and is being organised on a fully volunteer basis by Adventure Racing Ireland as a fund raiser for the adventure racing community and some deserving local causes. The event offers three excellent race route options (Expert, Sport and Challenge) so there is a race suited to beginners, intermediates & the seasoned racer sorts. Our Half Marathon starts at the entrance to Fairyhouse Race Course then left out onto the flat roads of County Meath showcasing a Fast, Flat & PB focused course for participants while finishing with one lap of Fairyhouse race course and then a sprint finish under the finish line in front of the Iconic Fairyhouse Grandstand.
