Fish Hoek, Western Cape (South Africa) - "Timbercity Red Hill Marathon, Classic and 13km Challenge". The first Red Hill Classic was run almost half a century ago as a training run for the Peninsula Marathon. No one could find a suitable short cut so, instead of a customary 20 mile (32km) marathon-prep course, the distance was set at 36km. In 1984, when the Two Oceans Marathon introduced qualifying marathon criteria for their event, a six kilometre loop was added for those who wanted to extend themselves from the 36k Classic to a full marathon (and has been a permanent fixture at the race since 1992). The route has remained constant over all this time save for two exceptions: The start line and first three kilometres has shifted around the perpetual roadworks to upgrade Kommetjie Road and Ou Kaapse Weg. However, Fish Hoek AC has built up a good relationship with the construction company and in 2019 they had a team working throughout the night to resurface the road for the runners, finishing up and providing the clearance to run just ten minutes before the race started. In 2008, a massive veld fire swept over the route resulting in road closures. People joke about building aeroplanes in the sky but the Red Hill race committee did just that - organising a new route on race morning and only finalising the marathon route after the race had already started. The 2008 event was something of a defining moment for the club and since then the race medal and club logo were redesigned to include the three flames to commemorate the experience. For 2025 the marathon and the 36 km will start at 05h00 (instead of 05h30 to accommodate further road works - but the route remains the same. www.fishhoekac.com

Pasco, Washington (United States of America) - "Big Cross Frozen Tundra Trail Run". A wintertime race to remember! There are two races to choose from: the 2.5 Mile Run/Walk and the NEW 5 Mile Run. The Big Cross Frozen Tundra race is open to all, but we especially invite past current and future members of Tri-Cities area high schools' Cross Country and Track Teams. Represent your school and even create your own teams (i.e. Bulldogs of the 2000s, etc). During registration you will even have the chance to donate to donate to and benefit your current local high school cross country program. FORMAT: Both Races will start at 9:30am and will take up to 120 participants each. Race bibs and giveaways will be available at the starting line at approximately 9:00am (30 minutes before start time). Race bibs will be according to race. The course is 2.5 miles in length on the woodchip/dirt/gravel trails at Big Cross in Pasco. Participants in the 5-mile run will complete two circuits of the course. TEAMS: We encourage participants to create teams and your own unique team uniforms to add to the atmosphere of the event. We will keep track of and score teams as in a regular Cross Country meet with first 5 team members scoring. This is for spirit and for bragging rights as we will publish the team results. SPECTATORS: Spectators may view the race from the designated spectator areas and/or along the course. They must however stay out of the start & finish area and avoid crossing over the race path when runners are visible on the course. Santa Clara, Utah (United States of America) - "Sun Marathon". The Sun Marathon has four distances. Full Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K and 5K. This race purpose is to get runners out of the cold and into the warmth of Southern Utah in the St. George/Santa Clara Area. Though the courses are primarily downhill over the distance there are some rollers and a few climbs.
