Verbier (Switzerland) - "Trail Verbier Saint-Bernard". Four different races for this event. All on mountainous terrains. "X-Alpine (140km / 9,300m D+). The main Swiss Alps trail, this is a real challenge for experienced ultratrailers. The route joins the three valleys of the river Dranse, forming a symbolic link between these geographic regions. Two main uphills will harden the beginning, passing by the Orny hut (2826m), by a glacier. La Fouly is roughly in the middle of the route and from there a new adventure starts, leading the runners by the famous Col du Grand St. Bernard, through several villages and pastures and also up the last 1200m ascent to La Chaux, called "the wall" by runners. "X-Traversée" (76 km / 5,300m D+) links the village of La Fouly and Verbier. The route pass by the awesome area of Panossière, you will enjoy the view on the Grand Combin (4314m) and cross the 190m long suspension bridge of Corbassière. "Verbier Marathon" (45km / 4000 m D+). A first big ascent up to Mille Hut where you will join the other routes. From here it continues up to the top of Rogneux at 3000m, before crossing the Avouillons pass to reach the bottom of the Grand Combin, its glacier and the Panossière hut. Crossing the suspension bridge will be the hottest spot of this section. By the end of the race you will still have to face "the wall", the Lourtier-La Chaux uphill in order to be able to run down to Verbier. "Verbier X-Plore" (26km / 1700m D+), a popular race. The goal is to keep this race as popular as possible and to encourage people to try the experience of trail running. To be a good walker is sufficient to take the challenge and be able to reach the finish line. The race will start on Sunday and will start and finish in Verbier. www.trailvsb.com
