Marathon: 16,000 runners, Pair-Ekiden: 250 pairs (500 runners), Wheelchair race 20 athletes. Marathon & pair-Ekiden: 6 hours (based on gun time). Marathon: Domestic participants: JPY17,500, Overseas participants: JPY30,000, Pair-Ekiden: JPY30,000 (for a pair), Wheelchair race: JPY3,000. Tokyo (Japan) - "Jingu Gaien 24 Hour Challenge & 12 Hour Ultramarathon". Annual endurance running event held in Tokyo’s Meiji Jingu Gaien area on a looped course around the park near the Meiji Jingu Gaien Sekitoku Memorial Picture Gallery. Runners compete either in a 24-hour timed challenge, aiming to complete as much distance as possible within the full day, or a 12-hour ultramarathon, with both events recognized by the Japan Ultra-Runner’s Association (JUA) and conducted under official ultramarathon race rules.
