Moshi (Tanzania) - "Kilimanjaro Marathon". Situated south of the equator at 5895 metres, Kilimanjaro is Africa's highest mountain and the highest free standing mountain in the world (as it is not part of a mountain range). The sheer presence of this huge mountain dominates the entire area. Every year, at the end of February / beginning March, a marathon, a half marathon and a 5km fun run will be held in the town of Moshi. This race has been set up to promote the sport in Tanzania, and has the official backing of the Tanzania Tourist Board, the Tanzania Amateur Athletics Association, the IAAF, and is registered with AIMS. www.kilimanjaromarathon.com

Arusha (Tanzania) - "Kilimasai Marathon Tanzania". Run in the Savannah of the Kilimanjaro. Sunday enjoy the experience of running in the Kilimanjaro Natural Park in Tanzania, Marathon, Half Marathon or 10k in a 5-day package, combining the race with a Trekking on Kilimanjaro, visits to Masai villages and to finish, 1-day safari in one of the most spectacular reserves in Tanzania.
