Tidworth, England (United Kingdom) - "Little Troopers Tidworth 10k and Fun Run". The Little Troopers 10k and Family Fun Run is back for 2025, and this time we are coming to Tidworth in Wiltshire on Sunday, 13th April 2025. Little Troopers is a national charity supporting all children who have parents serving in the British Armed Forces, and this event is part of the charity's busy April events calendar, celebrating the official Month of the Military Child. Led by Andali Events, the day will kick-start with a closed-road 10k race followed by a 1k family fun run for children of all ages. There will also be lots of family-friendly activities for little troopers to get involved in, as well as food, drink, and entertainment led by Richard Wyeth. Little Troopers will be in attendance on the day. Both races are open to the public, with service personnel, military families, veterans, and members of the local community all encouraged to come and take part to raise money for Little Troopers. Every penny raised for Little Troopers will help continue the work of this special charity, supporting thousands of military children each year. The Tidworth 10k is a multi-terrain, closed-road race crossing the Tedworth House estate and polo grounds, as well as going through parkland, woodland, and trails in the beautiful Wiltshire countryside. The 1k Family Fun Run will take place inside Tidworth Oval, where children and their families can complete two and a half laps of the all-weather running track (or as many laps as they can manage!), making it fun for all the family to get involved. www.andalievents.com/little-troopers

Ballater, Scotland (United Kingdom) - "Run Balmoral". Run Balmoral is a community running festival that takes place over the weekend of 26-27 April, offering a variety of races for all the family. No matter your pace or age, there's something for everyone here, all held within the beautiful grounds of the Balmoral Estate, with the famous Castle, home to the Royal Family since Victorian times, providing a spectacular backdrop. Between 4,000 and 5,000 participants, including international athletes, club racers, and recreational runners, are joined by 10,000 spectators for this hugely popular event, first held in 1998. The action kicks off on Saturday with primary schools' 1.5k, secondary schools' 2.5k, and adult 5k and 10k races. Then, on Sunday, there's a choice of a six-mile or 15-mile trail race for adults. For those seeking a bigger challenge, there's the Devil of Deeside contest, where competitors tackle the 5k, 10k, six-mile, and 15-mile races, with the winner being the person with the fastest combined time. Everyone receives a warm north-east welcome, and the achievement of every finisher is celebrated enthusiastically. All races are held on traffic-free roads and trails, offering superb views of the Deeside countryside and the Cairngorm mountains. Competitors in each race receive a special medal featuring a local landmark – this year it's the Auld Brig o' Dee. For the first time, instead of t-shirts, the organisers are making a significant contribution to a sustainable tree planting project in the River Dee Valley – one tree for every runner. In addition to the races, there's a vibrant Event Village with top-class catering facilities and numerous fun activities for children. Visitors are also free to explore the wonderful Balmoral grounds and gardens. Whether you're a newcomer to running or an experienced club athlete, why not sample Run Balmoral this Spring?
