Morgan, Utah (United States of America) - "East Canyon Marathon". The East Canyon Marathon has four distances. Full Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K and 5K. The Full Marathon starts overlooking Salt Lake City at the Big Mountain Pass at the top of Emigration Canyon and heads East. This course follows along pine trees, aspens and follows several miles along the East Canyon Reservoir. The Full joins Half Marathon about 3/4 around East Canyon Reservoir where the Half Marathons starts and then heads down Red Rock Canyon which has great views and landscapes and unique rock formations. Around Mile 20 of the race the course turns into farmland with beautiful fields of grain and cool barns. Let's run for Labor Day to celebrate the spirit of blood, sweat, and tears of generations of laborers who helped build our country! Run will sell out quick—we will close off waves the moment they fill up. If waves are sold out, you can sign up for the virtual run option or waitlist. This is a smaller, private group run with a cap per wave. All paces and ages (under 18 with guardian) are welcome—run or walk! There's no equipment or setup, this is a pure run with our coordinators to support you in a warm, stress-free setting. According to the U.S. Department of Labor, Labor Day, the first Monday in September, is a creation of the labor movement and is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers. Cincinnati, Ohio (United States of America) - "Cincinnati Aruna Run". The Cincinnati Aruna Run attracts 1500+ people to downtown Cincinnati each Labor Day to compete in 10K, 5K, and 1-Mile races. The run is a fundraiser for the Aruna Project, an international human rights non-profit dedicated to freeing, employing, and empowering survivors of human trafficking, both internationally and domestically. Wellsboro, Pennsylvania (United States of America) - "Pine Creek Challenge". 100 mile or 100 kilometer run, 50 mile and marathon distance, all on the Pine Creek Rail Trail in beautiful Wellsboro, PA! 100 mile relay option also!!!! The "Pine Creek Challenge" is just that, a place to challenge yourself by seeing how far or how fast you can run. It will be a scenic trail run along Pine Creek in northern Pennsylvania. The Pine Creek Rail Trail stretches 63 miles from Wellsboro Junction to Jersey Shore and is repeatedly listed as one of the finest bike rides in the Northeast. This section is through the "Grand Canyon of the East", the Pine Creek Gorge. The Gorge stretches for 47 miles. It is nearly a mile wide and 1,450 feet deep at its deepest point. This section of Pine Creek is listed as a National Natural Landmark. It's popular with canoeists and rafters in the spring and trout fishermen are drawn here all year long. We have set up an out and back course that uses 25 miles of the upper canyon section. We will have the start/finish at Asaph. The 100 miler runners will go 2 out and backs to Blackwell, passing through the canyon 4 times. The 100k folks will go once to Blackwell and return. The 50 mile course will be half of the 100 mile course, going once to Blackwell. The marathoners will turn around just below Tiaghdaton. www.pinecreekchallenge.com
