Tomball, Texas (United States of America) - "Cancer Kiss My Cooley's 5K Cooley Costume Run and Superhero Dash". We are excited to have you participate in our 5K Cooley Costume Run and Superhero Dash. This is a family event for novice runners of any age and includes a chip-timed certified 5K course for the advanced runner. Kids aged 4–8 can also register and participate in a Superhero Dash competition. Dress up as your favorite superhero. Your 5K registration includes a chip-timed 5K certified course, music, entertainment, and a CKMC T-shirt. Each registered adult will also get one free pint of beer from Paradigm Brewing. Costumes are not required but are welcome for both the 5K and the Superhero Dash, with the note that costumes should be family- and child-appropriate. Packet pickup is Friday, October 24 from 6–8 p.m. at Paradigm Brewing, or the morning of the race starting at 7:30 a.m. at the race location/Paradigm Brewing. The event will start rain or shine, but may be delayed for lightning. No refunds will be issued for any reason, including inclement weather, family or medical emergencies, or cancellation. Bicycles, in-line skates, other wheeled vehicles (except wheelchairs and hand cranks), and dogs are not allowed on the course. Baby joggers and strollers are permitted at the back of the start line; please use caution and be aware of others on the path. The 5K starts at 9:00 a.m. with a course cutoff at 10:30 a.m., and the Superhero Dash starts at 10:30 a.m. Medals will be awarded to the top three finishers in each age group: 12 and under, 13–18, 19–29, 30–39, 40–49, 50–59, and over 60. Houston, Texas (United States of America) - "Alex's 5K Run/Walk & Kids' K". Welcome to the 15th Annual Alex’s 5K Run/Walk & Kids' K! Alex’s 5K and Kids' K Run is a fun, family friendly event with a purpose. 100% of the net race profits will go to our designated autism based charities. We also offer a virtual option for those who wish to participate with the same purpose and enthusiasm from afar. Please join us in running to raise funds for autism charities in our community! Alex’s 5K is a fun, family friendly event that honors the life of Alex Jamrich by promoting autism awareness and raising money for research and services. Alex was autistic and passed away in 2010 at the age of 17. Lara Allen and the Bayou City Road Runners (BCRR) started the race in 2011. To date, we have donated over $250,000 over the life of the race, with beneficiaries including Avondale House (Alex's school), the Westview School, and Autism Speaks-Houston. More information about our beneficiaries can be obtained through the race website: www.alex5k.com . Race day is November 1st, 2025, in Houston, TX (DTA). The virtual option can be done any time from registration until race day on any course you choose, with virtual participants able to submit results from November 4 to November 11. Virtual runners are not eligible for age group awards. All participants will receive a custom Alex’s 5K finisher medal and a tech shirt. Registration fees for the 5K are as follows: Early Bird Registration $30 through August 31, 2025, Early Registration $35 from September 1 through October 7, 2025, Regular Registration $40 from October 8 to 31, 2025, and Late Registration $45 on race day, November 1, 2025. Virtual 5K registration follows the same fee structure. Discounts are available to all active HARRA and BCRR members, and special pricing is offered for PIM participants.
