Furnace Creek, California (United States of America) - "Death Valley Trail Marathon & Half Marathon". Our run is on a spectacular course on the Westside Road (dirt) in the heart of the Badwater Basin. The NPS has permitted us to run on the northern end of the road to facilitate our marathon, half marathon, & 10K. The half marathon will be a single out and back. The marathon will do this route twice. The turnaround point is within a few miles of the lowest point (-282 feet) in North America in the Badwater Basin and in the shadow of Telescope Peak (11,043 feet). This course will be one of the most stunning and beautiful runs that you will ever experience and is surrounded by the vast wilderness of Death Valley. The run starts and finishes at, essentially, sea level elevation. The lowest point on the course is -265 feet.
