Jersey City, New Jersey (United States of America) - "HunterFest 5K and Festival". HunterFest 5K and Festival to Benefit HuntersWorld is back for its fourth year, offering a breathtaking 5K in Liberty State Park with a new race course but the same spectacular views of the New York City skyline and Lady Liberty. All levels are welcome, and the top three overall male and female finishers will receive cash prizes! Bring your family and friends to cheer you on while they enjoy HunterFest, where they can sample delicious local cuisine, play carnival games, and more. Be ready to set a personal record on this flat, scenic, certified USATF New Jersey 500 Point 5K course. Details are forthcoming, but expect to bask in the beauty of New York Harbor while enjoying an exhilarating spring Sunday run. Liberty State Park is accessible via ferry from Manhattan, as well as by Path train and Light Rail, though traffic in Jersey City can be unpredictable, so allow extra time to arrive, park, and walk to the registration area. This event is rain or shine, and there are no transfers, credits, or refunds. The race director reserves the right to change the date, modify, or cancel the race. The event schedule includes runner registration and bag check from 9 AM to 9:30 AM, the race and festival start at 10 AM, the race ends at 11 AM, awards are presented at 11 AM to the top three males and females overall and to the top three in each age group (0-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, and 80+), and the festival concludes at 2 PM. Race registrants will receive a HunterFest 5K tech T-shirt, and certified race results will be posted live at the event and later on the website. HuntersWorld, a Jersey City-based nonprofit teen mentoring program created and driven by teenagers, currently focuses on launching the "Mental Health Advocacy Scholarship Program," recognizing an outstanding peer mentor committed to supporting teen mental health and wellness. This scholarship will be awarded to a teen pursuing higher education in a mental health-related field, and proceeds from this year's event will entirely fund the scholarship program. Bloomfield, New Jersey (United States of America) - "Geo Foundation 5K Run & 1 Mile Walk". Join us for a day of togetherness, fun, and movement outdoors. This event will be officially timed. Although we are not yet a USATF sanctioned event, we use a USATF certified course map. The map is roughly 3 laps around the park. Walkers will do one lap, runners will do all three. Awards: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place for... Women 40+, Women 20-39, Women 11-19, Men 40+, Men 20-39, Men 11-19 + Special Awards for all participants 10 and Under. We will have runners start their race first, followed by walkers. You have a choice to not be timed while registering, if you'd prefer to not be timed. We will have food and refreshments available at both the beginning and end of the event. More about Geo Foundation and our cause: The Geo Foundation honors George "Geo" Batikha and the many youth and young adults who have been diagnosed with cancer. All proceeds will go towards our two programs: Community Fund: Scholarships awarded to promising youth who champion our cause. Family Assistance Fund: Direct grants provided to families who have a child going through cancer. Any funds not donated by the end of the year are donated to a charity focused on supporting families impacted by youth cancer.
