Racine, Wisconsin (United States of America) - "North Beach 5K". Time and Location: North Beach Oasis, 100 Kewaunee Street, Racine, WI 53402. Packet pickup: 8:00 am - 8:45 am. Race start: 9:00 am. Course: This is an out-and-back course starting at the North Beach Oasis. Participants will proceed north on the paved bike trail, enjoying scenic views of Lake Michigan to their right. The course continues onto Michigan Blvd, where a turnaround point will direct participants back to the finish line. Awards: Recognition pins will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers in each 5-year age group. All finishers will receive a custom finisher's medal, a commemorative towel (while supplies last), one complimentary beer (for participants aged 21 and over), a goodie bag, and entry into a post-race raffle. These strong currents can quickly pull swimmers away from the shore and can be life-threatening. Here are some essential safety tips for Lake Michigan: Always swim in designated areas where lifeguards are on duty. Never swim alone. Be aware of the water conditions and heed any warning flags that are posted. If you find yourself caught in a rip current, do not panic.
