Königstein, Saxony (Germany) - "VVO Oberelbe-Marathon". The marathon starting point in Königstein is located in the middle of the Saxon Switzerland National Park. During the first 15 kilometers you can experience the fascinating and unique rock formations of the Elbe Sandstone Mountains (www.elbsandsteingebirge.de). In Pirna (www.pirna.de) there is a varied loop through the historic and attractive city center, before continuing on the Elberadweg (www.elberadweg.de) in the direction of Dresden (www.dresden.de). After passing the Blue Wonder, Dresden world-famous suspension bridge, the three castles Eckberg, Albrechtsberg and Lingnerschloss are passed in the area of ??the Elbe meadows. With a view at the Frauenkirche (www.frauenkirche-dresden.de) and other cultural and historical sights in the heart of Dresden, the finish line takes place in the newly reopened Heinz Steyer Stadium. The half marathons start in Pirna and reach after 0.5 km take the Elberadweg and then run on the same route as the marathon runners. The 10 km runners start their competition at the SchillerGarten below the Blue Wonder, one of Dresden's landmarks, the 5 km runners below the Waldschlößchenbrücke directly on the Elbe Cycle Path. The start and finish of the mini marathon and Bambinis is directly in the OEM finish, the Heinz Steyer Stadium.
