Shirts are racer back for women and tank tops for men. Course Information: The half marathon and full marathon are USTF certified. The course starts at the east end of the Hawthorne Trail. The course is out and back, which means the marathoners run four laps, and the half marathoners run two laps. Hydration: Due to the lack of volunteers, we will have to change the setup of the hydration system. Mile 1.4 will have 400 8oz bottles of water only (or more). The turnaround for the 13.1 and 26.2 (3.275 miles) will only have Gatorade bottles. Along the loop at the start and finish, there will be 2 tables placed 50 yards apart with Gatorade in cups. One table will have water in cups. Parking will be behind Island Doctor's (21815 SE 71st Ave, Hawthorne, FL 32640). Overflow parking will be at the High School (21403 SE 69th Ave, Hawthorne, FL 32640). Awards: Overall awards for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. Age group is: under 10, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-39. Salida, Colorado (United States of America) - "Christmas Mountain 5 Mile Run". Celebrate Thanksgiving weekend and the lighting of Christmas Mountain in Salida with a 5 mile and 1 mile race! The 5 mile course begins and ends by Riverside Park in downtown Salida. Race course is very scenic and mostly flat (around 160 feet of elevation gain) and takes place on city and county roads and gravel or concrete pedestrian paths. This event is designed for all runners, and we encourage all ages and abilities to come out! Packet pickup, post race drinks and snacks, and awards will also take place in Riverside Park in downtown Salida. Custom race socks will be included with this year's 5 mile race registration. Race begins at 10am, giving participants time to sleep in after Thanksgiving, and then relax with friends and family before heading back to downtown Salida for the lighting of Christmas Mountain. Festivities in town associated with this event include the annual Christmas Mountain parade, beginning at 6pm, followed by fireworks. This is one of Salida's biggest and most celebratory nights each year. The goals of this event are to encourage health, fitness, fun, and community connection around the Thanksgiving holiday; to offer another competitive racing opportunity in Chaffee County; and to raise money during the holiday season for the Chaffee County Community Foundation. Prize money will be offered to the top finishers (TBD in 2024, but 2023 was the following:) top 3 M/F overall ($150/$100/$75), along with the first place M/F masters runner ($100). There will also be a one mile run, which will begin at approximately 10:05am. Participants will run down Sackett Avenue, turn around after 1/2 mile, and head back to the finish line. Naperville, Illinois (United States of America) - "Naperville Noon Lions 5K Turkey Trot". The Naperville Noon Lions Club will host its 27th annual Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving AM, November 28, 2024 starting at 8:00am. Registration is open. Only on-line registration is accepted. This is a chip timed race with awards given to the top three overall male and female finishers as well as the top three finishers in each age group. Runners, walkers, running strollers and special needs runners / walkers are welcome. Adult registration $35 until Oct. 31, 2024; $40 thru Nov. 22; $45 + fee thereafter. Children ages 10-14 $30 and children 9 and under $25. All proceeds benefit individuals with vision, hearing or diabetes issues. Packet pick up will be at The Running Company store in downtown Naperville on Nov. 23, 24, 25, 26 and 27 and at Naperville Central High School on race day starting at 7:00am.
