Wilmington, North Carolina (United States of America) - "Wilmington Historic Half, 10K & 5K". The 7th Annual Wilmington Historic Half Marathon, 10K & 5K will take place on Saturday December 7th, 2024. Starting in the heart of downtown, runners will take a beautiful, closed course through the streets as they see the true southern beauty in Historic Wilmington, North Carolina. After 2.5 miles of downtown running, the 5K splits off to the boardwalk to finish while the Half Marathon will continue straight over 3 bridges and around a scenic lake before finishing down one of the nation's top-rated boardwalks! The 10K splits after the third bridge and heads down the boardwalk to the finish line! Packet Pick-Up: We are thrilled to announce Lumina on Wrightsville Beach as our Packet Pickup Sponsor! Join us from 12-6pm on Friday 12/6 at Lumina on Wrightsville Beach (1706 N. Lumina Ave, Wrightsville Beach, NC 28480) to grab your packet and check out our local vendors! Lodging: Lumina on Wrightsville Beach is also offering a block of rooms for our runners at an incredible rate. Start Times: 7:00am 5K; 7:30am 10K; 7:45am Half Marathon (No Late Starts). Half Marathon start is right next to the 5K finish. Parking: There are over 10,000 public parking spots in Downtown Wilmington. (Don't park along the race route or if there is a covered meter or sign.) Start Line: The start line will be located in the new Riverfront Park (10 Cowan St, Wilmington, NC 28401) Finish Line: You can plan on a good time at our Finish Line After Party! Race Bash is bringing all the fun and even some surprises... you don't want to miss it! Hosted at Riverfront Park, the after-party includes beer from Wrightsville Beach Brewery & food from Tropical Smoothie Cafe (you will have voucher tabs on your bib for these). Beverage sales and the after-party will be over at 11:30am. See you there!! Awards: Every participant will earn a finisher medal! In addition to that, we would like to celebrate some of our top runners! Stop by the Awards Tent to pick up your award! (We will not have a ceremony due to the different start times of the races.) We will offer awards for 1st, 2nd & 3rd Overall Male/Female; 1st, 2nd & 3rd Masters Male/Female for all races, as well as the top 3 in age groups using 5 year age brackets. Course Information: All 3 courses are certified and sanctioned. The time limit for the 5K is 90 minutes and 3.5 hours for the Half Marathon. If you are interested in completing the Historic Challenge you must be able to complete your 5K in under 45 minutes or less and make your way back to the Starting Line by 7:45am. (There will be NO late starts for the Half Marathon). No one without a bib is allowed on the course at any time. No dogs, companion bikes, scooters, rollerblades or motorbikes are allowed on course. Anyone without a registered bib will be removed from the course. Volunteers: We LOVE Volunteers! And we need a lot of them.
