Medina, Ohio (United States of America) - "Tunnel to Towers 5K Run & Walk". 12th annual Tunnel to Towers Run/Walk in Medina, OH to support the programs of the Tunnel to Towers Foundation. The Foundation provides mortgage-free homes to catastrophically injured military and first responders, Gold Star families with young children and Fallen First Responder families throughout the US. Participants run or walk in honor of those lost on 9/11/01 (and since) following the footsteps of FDNY Firefighter Stephen Silller who, on 9/11, ran through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel to the World Trade Center disaster where he gave his life. Beginning on Medina's Historic Public Square, the route includes the Medina County 9/11 Memorial, participants also get to run through the fire house before making there way back to the finish line on the Square.
